I started building my wife a desk yesterday following Shanty 2 Chic DIY plans. We extended the width to 70″ and made the depth only 22 1/2″ to fit our space and equipment better. Going to finish sanding tonight and stain, glaze and wax tomorrow. I will add final build pics once the wax dries.
UPDATED (2014OCT30):
I finished the desk today. I completed two rounds of staining yesterday evening. Today at lunch I put on a light coat of glaze to simulate the rustic look that my wife desired.
